Oakland police say a 14-year-old boy accused of fatally shooting his 17-year-old sister over a laundry dispute has turned himself in.

Police have been investigating the death of Justice Toliver since last Thursday, publicly naming her younger brother as their only suspect in her killing.

Just after 2pm Wednesday, Oakland police say the teen walked in to the Oakland police station with family, friends and his attorney. The teen was visibly upset. Detectives credit the family for encouraging the teen to turn himself in to authorities.

The brother and sister lived in a fifth floor apartment with their grandmother and father in the city's Chinatown neighborhood.
