Restaurant robbery attempt in NE Houston ends with worker injured

HOUSTON

The latest one happened at Tidwell and Homestead around 9pm.

Police say two men walked up to the drive-thru window and fired a shotgun. An employee was cut by glass and the gunmen ran away empty-handed. The worker was taken to the hospital to get checked out, and the suspects fled on foot.

Just yesterday, another robber tried to hold up a northwest side McDonald's also at the drive thru lane.

Investigators are looking at surveillance video and trying to determine if it's connected to other cases involving McDonald's drive-through robberies.
