It happened around 3am on Aldine Bender at Imperial Valley in northeast Houston.
Police are not sure if the man was entering or exiting his apartment, but he was shot in the parking lot.
The motive is unclear as well.
The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the shooter remains on the run
