Ramiro Garza and Barbara Garza are both charged with possession of marijuana between 5 and 50 pounds, which is a third-degree felony. Aside from the marijuana, Galveston police say there was nearly $14,000 in cash.
The arrests were the result of a six-month investigation by the Galveston Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division, University of Texas Medical Branch Police Department and Galveston Police Department Patrol Division.
Both suspects have bonds set at $100,000 apiece.
