North Texas teen admits guilt in drunken-driving deaths

FORT WORTH, TX

The 16-year-old from Keller, north of Fort Worth, was in court Wednesday on four counts of intoxication manslaughter. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports he will allow a judge to determine his sentence.

One of his attorneys, Regan Wynn, says the teen's parents were not engaged in his life and his behavior descended into drug and alcohol abuse.

Investigators say the boy's blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit the night of June 15 when his pickup slammed into a disabled SUV in Burleson. Killed in the wreck was the driver of the SUV and three others who had stopped to assist.

The Associated Press is withholding the teen's name because he's charged as a minor.
