A military jury late Tuesday convicted Master Sgt. Brad Grimes of conspiring to patronize a prostitute and solicitation to commit adultery. The 17-year Army veteran was then demoted one pay grade and reprimanded during the court-martial at the Central Texas post.
Grimes, who's married, was acquitted of patronizing a prostitute and committing adultery.
The explosive ordnance disposal specialist was charged with participating in an alleged prostitution ring involving young female soldiers needing money. Defense attorney Daniel Conway told jurors that Grimes was "tempted" but no money exchanged hands and no sex happened.
Another soldier involved in Fort Hood's sexual assault and harassment program has been suspended amid the investigation.
