Woman assaulted before having purse stolen in west Harris County

Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office hope by releasing surveillance video, they'll be able to find a man who allegedly assaulted a woman in a west Houston parking lot.

It happened back on August 31 outside a business in the 6000 block of Fry Road. The victim says that around 3:20, she was walking out of the store and into the parking lot pushing a shopping cart when she was struck on the back of the head by a suspect who then took her purse.

The victim says she fell to the ground. The suspect was last seen getting into a late model gray Buick fleeing the parking lot.

The suspect is described as a black male with short black hair, between the ages of 26-30 years, standing approximately 5'10" tall and weighing approximately 200 lbs. At the time of the offense the suspect was wearing a light purple shirt and dark jeans.
