Irving police say the woman was struck early Tuesday by a bullet apparently fired from the room next door.
Her husband and son were also in the victim's room but weren't hurt. Police say the woman was transported to a Dallas hospital, where she died.
Irving police were questioning the people from the adjacent room. Police did not immediately announce any arrests or further details in the investigation.
The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.
