Houston fitness instructor accused of child sex assault arrested in Thailand

HOUSTON

Forrest Wayne, 41, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Police say in July, Wayne, who was working as a fitness instructor at Westside Fitness Center, befriended a 13-year-old female. He reportedly used text messages and phone calls to start a relationship with her.

According to police, the relationship led to Wayne and the victim engaging in multiple sexual encounters at the Memorial Inn and Suites in the 9500 block of the Katy Freeway. They say the instances occurred between July and October, with the last one happening October 10.

Over the weekend, Wayne was taken into custody by police officials in Thailand. Investigators say he was in a health food store to make a purchase when an employee became suspicious of him. The worker entered Wayne's information into an Internet search engine and found he was wanted in the sexual assault of a juvenile.

The employee immediately called Thailand police, and Wayne was taken into custody. It is unclear at this time when Wayne will be extradited back to Houston.
