Here are the instructions on how to make a valence with $30.
Materials:
2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inch board
Staple Gun
Scissors
No Sew Peel and Stick Tape/Glue
Fabric
Fabric Liner
Trim (optional)
L-Bracket and Screws
Drill
Directions:
Measure your window. Add three inches to each side and that will be the length of your board
Wrap the board with the liner and secure using the staple gun
Figure out how long you want the fabric to hang. (Kat's was 16 inches)
Cut your fabric and liner to the same length
Wrap it around the board and staple
"Hem" the bottom using fabric glue or No Sew tape
Add trim using fabric glue or No Sew tape
Fold the sides like you're wrapping a present and staple(see video)
Add the L-Bracket to the back of the board and drill into the wall.
