Snakes used in Tennessee church services confiscated

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN

In Tennessee, it is illegal to own poisonous snakes, so officials busted in the Tabernacle Church of God on Wednesday and confiscated all 50 of the pastor's snakes.

Pastor Andrew Hamblin says his rights are being violated. He says they use the snakes during services.

"To me, it's unconstitutional," said Pastor Hamblin. "To me, telling someone what they can or cannot have in a worship service is no different than telling someone they can't have a bible."

Pastor Hamblin says he still plans to practice his religion, despite his snakes being taken away. Meanwhile, officials say some of the snakes were in poor condition and had to be taken to a zoo.
