Disturbing new details in child sex case, as more possible victims come forward

HOUSTON

Costin is charged with sexual assault of a child. Investigators tell us they have five alleged victims so far, and they are urging any others to come forward.

Prosecutors are fielding new calls from parents of possible victims of accused child sexual predator Tad Costin. Neighbors at two homes where the 42-year-old recently lived say they are stunned by the allegation that he sexually assaulted dozens of children ages four to seven, and captured the assaults on camera.

"I think it's a pretty sick thing to do," one neighbor said. "He's taking advantage of some of the weakest people in our society."

Prosecutors say hundreds, and possibly thousands, of images were shot at a southeast Houston home. They have counted at least 15 unidentified children on camera so far.

"You never know the people next door," said neighbor Daniel Crow. "How many times do you hear that these days?"

Investigators say they found most of the files at Costin's home in Pearland. A woman there did not want to speak to us.

The case began in Liberty County, where Costin's girlfriend's parents found SD cards, which police say contained images of Costin assaulting children -- some of whom were dressed in nightgowns, and some who appeared to have been drugged. Detectives say there was also evidence that someone else was operating the camera.

Tad Costin is in the Harris County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
