Truck accident spills lots of bees, honey on Georgia highway

A big rig carrying bee hives and honey blew a tire and overturned in Forsyth, near Atlanta.

CNN reports that beekeepers were among the first responders, moving the broken hives to a nearby grassy area. Firefighters sprayed water to control the bees and keep the honey from spreading.

The Macon Telegraph reported that beekeepers were painstakingly taking the honey combs out of the broken hives to salvage the bees' homes, and the bees stayed near the hives.

The cleanup took several hours, but no injuries were reported.
