Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators said two people were injured Saturday in crash caused by illegal racing, and the drivers involved face charges.

According to deputies, two pickup trucks were racing down Ella Boulevard in northwest Harris County when one driver lost control and hit a curb, two fences and a telephone pole before flipping the truck on its side in the front yard of a home.

The homeowner's son, John Greenwood, was standing in the driveway when the crash happened. He said it's not the first time he's seen or heard vehicles racing in the area.

"I've woken up many a times, especially on Friday and Saturday night, hearing cars up and down this street," Greenwood said. "It's not just our street, but we get the brunt of it."

Two women in the truck were taken the hospital in unknown conditions. The other driver did stop and return to the scene. Officials said both drivers will be charged with racing with bodily injuries.
