Suspected shoplifter arrested after leading police on high-speed chase from Baytown through two counties

KINGWOOD, TX

According to authorities, a woman suspected of shoplifting became violent with loss prevention officers at a Walmart in Baytown.

The suspect drove away from the scene, but Baytown police soon spotted her car and chased her west on Interstate 10 and then north on Highway 59 to Kingwood.

Officers deployed spike strips, but the woman managed to avoid them. The chase finally ended on Knox in south Montgomery County where she was arrested.

Baytown police, Houston police, Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office and Harris County Sheriff's Office assisted.

Investigators said the suspect reached speeds of up to 100mph, but traffic was light and no one was hurt in the chase.
