Police: Man involved in school disturbance, then ran from police twice finally arrested

HOUSTON

Lavonnie J. Giron, 24, is charged with two counts of evading arrest, one count of resisting arrest and one count of failure to identify.

Pearland police say Giron was involved in some type of disturbance with his ex-girlfriend at a school in Houston Tuesday morning. After Harris County Pct. 2 officers investigated the incident and learned Giron's mother worked at a Pearland day care, they asked Pearland police to be on the lookout for him.

Police eventually found Giron walking in the 2100 block of Pearland Parkway, and when they confronted him, he allegedly provided false information. Then as police tried to place him into custody, he fought the officers and took off running.

Giron was then spotted again in the 2900 block of Piccadilly Circus. When officers tried approaching him, he allegedly took off running again, leading them on a brief foot chase. He was eventually taken into custody.

Pearland police say Giron was also found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
