The victim was found at an apartment on Station near the North Freeway.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the victim's friend became suspicious because the man hadn't show up for work for the past two days, and he didn't answer the door yesterday when she stopped by to check on him.
That's when authorities say she called the victim's former roommate, who had a key. She came back to the apartment and found her friend dead inside.
"At this point she is saying the door was locked and that she had to get a key from a former roommate. So at this point we just don't know whether his keys are missing or if there is another roommate or another set of keys out there," said Sgt. Ben Beall with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators say it appears that victim could have been dead inside his apartment for about two to three days. At this point, deputies say they have no suspects in connection with this case.
The victim's identity hasn't been released.
