Alleged shoplifter leads Friendswood police on foot chase

FRIENDSWOOD, TX

It happened around 2:30pm Saturday at a Kroger on North Friendswood Drive.

Investigators said Angela Dawn Skinner, 38, set off the anti-theft system as she walked out of the grocery store with a brown bag.

Skinner was gone by the time Friendswood police arrived, but the manager of the store gave investigators a description of the suspect. They soon spotted her in the area, and she allegedly took off running when she saw officers.

After a brief foot chase, an officer was able to catch her and transport her to jail.

Skinner, who had been fired from the store, reportedly had $193 in items in the brown bag. Police said she also had 25 prescription narcotic pills in her purse. She was charged with theft, possession of a dangerous drug and evading arrest. Bond was set at $4,000.
