Former assistant prosecutor Kim Ogg announces she is running for DA

HOUSTON

Kim Ogg is also the former director of Crime Stoppers of Houston. She made the official announcement Monday morning. She will run for DA as a Democrat.

Republican Devon Anderson was appointed DA last week to replace her late husband. She intends to run for a full term when the primary is held next March, and her campaign confirmed that Monday with a statement following Ogg's entry into the race.

"Devon Anderson will be a candidate for election 2014," Allen Blakemore, advisor to the campaign, stated in the release. "A formal announcement will be made in October."
