A cyclist made the discovery along Tidwell near TC Jester, about two and a half miles downstream from where 18-year-old Eric Cabrera's truck was found on Friday.
The cyclist was on his way home from work when he saw what looked like a body in White Oak Bayou. He knew there had been a search going on in the area, so he immediately called 911.
When police arrived they recovered a body they believe is that of Cabrera. Crews have been searching for Cabrera since Saturday. They believe he lost control of his truck during this weekend's heavy rains and landed in White Oak Bayou.
Police found his truck flipped over with nobody inside. But, due to strong current and high water, investigators say they were not able to find his body until Tuesday.
"He was in the water ... caught on a sewer drain," said witness James McClain, who spotted the body. "I'm still a little shook up because I ain't ever seen nobody in no water floating."
Investigators originally believed there was a female passenger in the truck with Cabrera. They now believe that was a mistake and have suspended their search.
