Body found near trail at Sam Houston National Forest

HOUSTON

Authorities say a man's body was found close to a trail in a heavily wooded area on FM 2929, about a mile east of the road's intersection of FM 2296. The victim has been described only as a young Hispanic man. His name has not been released.

Authorities would not speculate on a cause of death but say it appears the victim's body was dumped at that location.

Hours after the discovery, detectives arrested El Salvador native Christian Zamora on a murder charge.

This is the third homicide in just a few months. The last was a grandmother and her grandson found dead in a home just west of Huntsville. Authorities have not yet made any arrests in that case but they're still analyzing hundreds of pieces of evidence at a DPS lab.
