Alleged purse-snatcher on the run after crash in north Houston

HOUSTON

It happened around 12:30pm on Little York near Airline.

According to police, the woman stole purses at a Food Town, then hopped into a tan Lincoln Town Car and headed east.

Witnesses said the car tried to make a U-turn and hit another car, which then slammed into two parked cars in front of a restaurant.

At that point, witnesses tell the woman got out and walked away from the wreck.

"The suspect car stopped, and the girl that did the purse snatching got out and started walking," witness Deborah Savoy said. "Walking away with two or three purses on her shoulder."

Savoy managed to snap a couple of photos of the suspect with her cell phone.

The woman police say was driving the car was taken into custody for questioning and later released. Police never caught up with the suspect.

Anyone with information on this case can call Houston police or Crime Stoppers.
