Houstonians run in support of 9/11 victims, first responders

HOUSTON

The run was organized by local community volunteers and is part of an international effort spearheaded by the Travis Manion Foundation – a nonprofit named for fallen Marine, 1st Lt. Travis Manion, killed by an enemy sniper in Iraq in April 2007. Established to honor his memory, the Travis Manion Foundation assists our nation's veterans and the families of all fallen heroes.

The Houston 5-K run began at the Ellington Airport main gate at 8am.

Proceeds will go to the Travis Manion Foundation, Assist the Officer and the Houston Fire Fighters Burned Children's Fund.
