1 dead, 1 hurt in Texas railroad bridge accident

GEORGE WEST, TX

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports both men fell about 30 feet while working Wednesday afternoon in Live Oak County.

Union Pacific spokeswoman Raquel Espinoza in Houston says the lift apparently fell and both men hit the ground.

Espinoza says one man died at the scene. The other worker was transported to a hospital. His name and further details on injuries weren't immediately available Thursday.

The Live Oak County Sheriff's Office on Thursday didn't immediately provide information on the accident or identify the man who died.

Union Pacific is based in Omaha, Neb.
