Arson investigators are trying to find out what sparked a fire in west Houston.

The blaze started just after midnight at the Carrington Park apartments on Park Row near Broadfield Boulevard.

Firefighters say flames and heavy smoke were pouring out of a downstairs garage. It spread to an upstairs unit that had three people inside. They all made it out safely, but one of them had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

It's believed something in the garage sparked the fire.
