Crooks stole two air conditioning units from American Legion Post 644 in Channelview.
Post Commander Daniel Figueroa said the units were stolen sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday.
"Our daytime barmaid noticed that it was hot in the morning, and so she was trying to figure out why it wasn't working. The ACs were stolen," Figueroa said.
The post says it will hold fundraisers to help raise the $6,000 needed to replace the AC units. Cages will be built around the new units to deter thieves.
