Investigators say at around 7pm, deputies spotted a pickup truck wanted in some of the offenses and began to give chase. The driver of the pickup, James Lee Parker, 62, didn't immediately stop.
When the chase was over, deputies arrested Parker. They say they found burglary tools in the truck, which was reported stolen from Louisiana.
The investigation that led to Parker's arrest was a multi-agency effort by law enforcement in areas affected by the recent string of burglaries. That includes the Liberty County Sheriff's Department, Chambers County Sheriff's Department, Hardin County Sheriff's Department, Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and the Port Arthur Police Department.
According to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office, Parker was released on parole in March 2013 and has at least 38 past convictions. He's currently in the Jefferson County jail.
