The National Hurricane Center said Saturday that Erin was centered over the Atlantic Ocean, about 815 miles (1,310 kilometers) west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands. It was moving northwest at about 12 mph (19 kph).
It does not pose a threat to land.
The storm's maximum sustained winds were around 40 mph (64 kph), though it could begin losing some strength on Sunday.
