Gerald Wayne Moody, 20, was charged with reporting a false alarm, which is a Class A misdemeanor. According to the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office, several false calls reporting fires in the Klein and Cypress Creek areas of northwest Harris County have come in.
They say an investigation led them to Moody.
"Investigators were able to track down the suspect through cell phone records and voice recognition assistance from the Cypress Creek Communications Centers," said Lt. Dean Hensley with the the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office.
Moody was booked into the Harris County jail on a $500 bond.
