Angelina County jail records show 37-year-old Kevin Jabbar McKelvey of Lufkin was being held without bond Tuesday on a charge of capital murder of multiple persons.
Online jail records don't list an attorney for McKelvey, who called Sheriff Greg Sanches and turned himself in Monday night.
Investigators say 39-year-old Teresa Hoyle McCoy and her 22-year-old daughter Ca'Shaunika Hoyle were fatally shot Sunday night. Officials say McKelvey and McCoy had been fighting and he allegedly threatened to kill her and her family.
Texas prison records show McKelvey served a 14-year sentence for attempted murder in Nacogdoches (na-kuh-DOH'-chihs) County.
