Pasadena police bust house filled with $2.5 million worth of pot

PASADENA, TX

Police say they discovered the plants Wednesday inside a $200,000 home in the Park Ridge Estates neighborhood, which is in south Pasadena.

The suspects used both an electrical meter and the main electrical service line below the house to support their operation and installed a large air conditioning unit, along with automated watering, lighting, and air filtration systems to grow the plants, according to police.

Authorities seized about 700 marijuana plants and 2 pounds of high-grade "consumer ready" marijuana. They say the street value of the drugs tops $2.5 million dollars.

Felony charges are now pending against the two suspects, who have not yet been identified.
