It happened around 2am. Police say a Nissan SUV was stolen in a carjacking earlier in the night.
Authorities were on the lookout for the vehicle and an officer spotted it on Bellaire and tried to pull it over. Instead of stopping, the driver took off and turned north on Westbranch, but missed the turn on Rodeo Square and crashed into a tree.
"They hit the turn and they crashed when they were trying to turn around the edge," said witness Michael Johnson. "That's all we were saying after that cause the law man hopped out of the car."
Police say there were four people in the car. Two of the people were taken to the hospital in critical condition. The other two were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
All four of the suspects face charges of aggravated robbery. The driver, if he survives, will also face felony charges of evading arrest.
