The shooting happened around 5:50pm Friday in the 10900 block of Beacave Bend Court near Beltway 8 between Hollister Road and Bammell North Houston.
Harris County Sheriff's Office investigators said Steven Breeding, 29, was walking on the sidewalk when a small, white vehicle pulled up and a black male exited the vehicle.
According to deputies, Breeding and the suspect got into a fight, and the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot him.
After shooting Breeding, officials said the suspect got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.
Breeding was transported to Willowbrook Methodist Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
