Off-duty police officer hits homeless man with unmarked patrol car in downtown Houston

HOUSTON

Police said the sergeant was going to a gas station on Travis in downtown Houston when he accidentally turned into the man. According to investigators, the man was crossing outside of a crosswalk, and it was too dark for the officer to see him.

The man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be okay.

Police say no charges will be filed in the case.
