Good Samaritans rescue injured dog from Highway 59, hoping someone will adopt it

HOUSTON

Mills was picked up Friday by Chris Jenkins, founder and president of the Bandade Animal Rescue nonprofit. Three people saved the dog from the middle of a busy intersection Sunday night.

"A very nice person that stopped and helped us kinda corral her off the main road she was on, and we didn't even know her leg was hurt when we first saw her," Jenkins said.

A veterinarian amputated Mills' right hind leg due to a severe infection.

Jenkins says the two-year-old dog will be spayed, and she is hoping someone will adopt her.
