Big reward offered for newest most-wanted Texas fugitive

AUSTIN, TX

Larry Valdez, 42, is the newest name on the list. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Valdez has a violent criminal past. He's wanted for parole violation, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault causing bodily injury-family violence and duty on striking fixture/highway landscape.

Valdez has been on the run since 2005. He's wanted for a Dallas County incident in which allegedly assaulted a woman and left her for dead. The victim survived the assault but is permanently disfigured.

Valdez reportedly has relatives living in the Dallas area, and he has previously worked as an iron worker.

Valdez is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 185 pounds. His tattoos include heart/ribbon/arrow on the left side of his chest.

There are four different ways to provide anonymous tips:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Text the letters DPS -- followed by your tip -- to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
  • Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the "SUBMIT A TIP" link (under the "About" section).
