Irving police wound gunman in domestic dispute

IRVING, Texas

Irving police on Thursday declined to release the names of the suspect who had an assault rifle or two officers who shot him. No officers were hurt.

Police on Wednesday night responded to a report of an armed man threatening some of his relatives. Police later saw the suspect in a vehicle and attempted a traffic stop -- leading to a chase.

Irving police say the pursuit ended when the suspect pulled into the driveway of a residence, got out and started firing.

Two officers returned fire and the suspect was shot multiple times. He was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

Further details weren't immediately released.
