The Texas Civil Rights Project is suing the county on behalf of that teen's father.
Back in December, the 17-year-old was taken into custody at North Shore High School after one of his friends warned authorities he had a gun. He was patted down and placed in a cruiser before shooting himself in the head.
The teen survived the shooting but now his father says county investigators are withholding information about what exactly happened. The lawsuit claims the county is in violation with the Texas Public Information Act.
