A disabled woman was rushed to the hospital after flames broke out at her apartment near Reliant Park early this morning.

It happened at an apartment complex off Underwood at Kirby.

The wheelchair-bound woman was still trapped inside and had to be rescued. She was rushed to the hospital after inhaling too much smoke.

A second woman was treated on scene after becoming dizzy from the smoke.

Fire crews tell us the flames started in the kitchen, but don't have the exact cause just yet.
