Thousands lose electricity during Texas storms

DALLAS, TX

Electric provider Oncor reported about 19,000 customers in North Texas without power Thursday. Crews worked to restore electricity amid rainy conditions. Oncor also had scattered outages in the Midland and Odessa areas.

More than 500 Lubbock Power & Light customers were without electricity following storms in West Texas. AEP Texas reports nearly 800 customers losing power in the Abilene area.

The National Weather Service says storms are likely Thursday in central and north parts of Texas.
