The Houston Ministers Against Crime is teaming up with other area clergy and law enforcement for "Project Safe Start." The ministers will spend the last day of school this week at Houston, Spring branch, North Forest, Alief, Pasadena, and Fort Bend ISD campuses. The goal is to prevent end of school year violence, and to protect students and staff.
"We want to protect our teachers," said Reverend F.N. Williams, Sr. "We want them to have a good summer."
Local ministers began the Safe Start initiative at local school campuses 23 years ago.
