Police: NE Harris County homeowner opens fire on intruder

A homeowner opened fire on a man he thought was trying to break into his house in far northeast Harris County last night.

It happened around 8:30pm at a home on Long Road near Meyer. The suspect ran into the woods when the homeowner started shooting, but wasn't hit. The suspect was taken into custody after being tracked by police dogs.

It is not clear if he took anything and deputies have not yet decided what charges he will face. The homeowner will not face charges.
