Suspected chop shop raided in NW Harris County

HOUSTON

An auto theft task force found the vehicles at a property along Breen and Zuinn in northwest Harris County. Officers say a tip call led them to the property. Investigators from Harris and Montgomery counties, and the DPS found at least 25 stolen vehicles.

Officers say the vehicles were having their vehicle identification numbers removed and replaced.

"What we're finding is some vehicles from Montgomery County, Harris County, city of Houston, stolen that are having the VIN switched on them," said Lt. David Moore with the Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force.

Eight suspects were arrested on undisclosed charges and taken to the Harris County Jail.
