Police say a 31-year-old man shot a 24-year-old woman at the Ava Apartments on Highmeadow near Hillcroft around 7pm. He then shot himself.
Friends called police after they hadn't heard from the woman in a few days.
"Friends got concerned and patrol made entry and found the two bodies inside the apartment," said Sgt. Peg Jewell with the Houston Police Department.
Officers found the bodies in the bathroom when they checked the apartment.
Friends say the victims had been in a relationship for several years. Their names haven't been released.
