Rains flood portion of College Station City Hall

COLLEGE STATION, TX

The Bryan College-Station Eagle reports staff members responded by sweeping the water out with brooms and putting desks on bricks late Thursday afternoon. The water peaked at about 18 inches in the atrium.

Mayor Nancy Berry said the council was meeting in executive session when water started seeping under the door. She said, "We went out and looked and the water was all over."

City spokesman Jay Socol says an emergency restoration firm started cleanup work Thursday and were expected to continue throughout the weekend.
