If you are looking for that natural glow without any UV rays, you have some options.
Amy Harshaw is the owner of Kingwood Spray Tan. She's a one-woman mobile tan specialist who literally sets up a tanning tent wherever you are.
"My equipment is completely mobile so I can pack it up in the car and come to you," she said. "So it's done in the privacy of your home."
For $35 you get a customized color. With three or more people, the price goes down to $30 a person. If you have five people, the host tans for free.
In Missouri City, Cheri Ingram with Classy Tan also sets up a mobile tan tent. Cheri's price for one air brush tan is $40 per person. For five to eight people, the price drops to $35, and with nine or more people, it's $30.
If you want a salon experience, the price varies. At the Upper Hand Salon, it's $40 a session.
Planet Beach salon is known for its Mystic Tan.
"It sprays on you and you have a developing time of six to 12 hours," said a spokesperson. "It's designed to be natural looking."
One session is $45, but membership packages can include the Mystic Tan.
If you are going to get spray tanned by a professional or machine, experts recommend to help the tan set, you exfoliate before your appointment and arrive freshly showered.
