Lone Star College to ask voters for security upgrades

HOUSTON

Separate campuses experienced a shooting in January and a mass stabbing attack earlier this month.

The Lone Star College system has a $497.7 million bond referendum on the May 11 ballot. Part of the referendum calls for more video surveillance on campus, along with enhanced lighting, emergency call boxes and sirens.

Another proposed improvement includes an automated door locking system with new electronic badge access.
