The trucks will replace the aging Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. GM North America President Mark Reuss ((ROY-ss)) says they'll be able to do 95 percent of the work that GM's full-size trucks do.
The Canyon will go after buyers who need a truck for work.
The Colorado will aim for younger "lifestyle" buyers who use trucks to haul recreation equipment and play outdoors. Reuss says it will marketed toward a new generation of buyers, especially on the West Coast.
