The shooting happened around 4:45pm at an apartment complex in the 9400 block of Cullen near Wenda.
Authorities say a poilce officer pulled over a gold Buick Regal because it had expired tags. The driver pulled over and did a slow roll through an apartment complex, then bailed. He ran, jumped over a chain link fence, then turned around a pulled a gun on the officer. The officer pulled out his weapon and shot once at the suspect. It is unknown if the suspect was injured.
The suspect dropped the weapon and ran away. He jumped into the passenger seat of a black Impala that was waiting for him on Cullen and fled.
The passenger of the vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Roy Dion Duncan, was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
The unidentified suspect fled the scene and is wanted at this time.
HPD Officer P. Awomosu, who discharged his duty weapon, is assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division and was sworn in as an officer in January 2009. He was not injured in this incident.
