Five people injured in serious wreck on Houston's south side

A big collision on Houston's southside sent five people to area hospitals this morning.

Five people were rushed to hospitals after a violent crash on Houston's south side early this morning.

A car and a pickup collided around 3:45am on Sunbeam and Chesterfield. The wreckage ended up in a ditch and in a yard.

Three of the people were reportedly thrown out of the vehicles. There was so much confusion at the scene initially that two other people were unaccounted for until they were found lying in the yard.

There is no word on the victims' conditions.
